The Filipino community in Richmond, in cooperation with Richmond Public Library (RPL) and the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Vancouver, is celebrating Filipino Culture in December 2012.
PHILCAS and Rosario Strings will provide separate and combined performances at the official ceremonies on 1 December 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Ambeth Ocampo, a multi-awarded Filipino historian, academic, journalist, and author best known for his writings about Philippines' national hero José Rizal and for "Looking Back", his bi-weekly editorial page column in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, is one of the invited guests. He will do a presentation on Philippine History and the Global Filipino. Another guest, Miguel Syjuco, a multi-awarded Filipino-Canadian writer will make a formal presentation of his book, Illustrado, which is currently part of the Filipiniana Collection.

The PCG will formally open the ceremonies on 1 December 2012 followed by cultural and literary presentations.
